MID SOUTH INSTITUTE OF NLP/HYPNOSIS
Established by Edna Ward Clay (BA, Certified NLP Trainer, CEO & President) and Clinton O. Clay (MSW, LCSW, Certified NLP Trainer and Certified Fellow In Clinical Hypnotherapy, NBCCH) in 1985, the Mid South Institute defined its purpose to offer quality education to professionals and the lay public., primary educational content to be based upon Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnosis. The curriculum has included NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner levels. A complete program of 72 hours training is offered in hypnosis. The Clays have continued available to present programs to the public, including PTAs, civic clubs and organizations, professional membership groups, and to educational institutions, including high schools and colleges. Programs are often designed for groups and institutions, tailored to specific needs. We also welcome the opportunity to appear on TV and radio for interviews.
We also offer seminars and workshops on communication and rapport skills, understanding and healthfully expressing emotions, Seven Path Spiritual Growth, as well as introductory sessions on NLP and hypnosis.Beginning in 2008, following his retirement from working with public and not for profit agencies, mental health, family practice and psychiatry practice groups, Clint began working with the MSI where he is available on a part time basis to do therapy and hypnotherapy. He brings over 60 years of practice as a social worker as well as a background of multiple and diverse modalities. Beginning in his college major (1944-48) he studied psychoanalytic theory and during ensuing years studied extensively in Client Centered Therapy (Carl Rogers), family dynamics and family systems, transactional analysis-Gestalt, NLP, hypnosis, EMDR, TFT, EFT, Chackra treatment, and BSFF. His most recent study was in an advanced training program with Cal Banyan, Tustin, California, where he learned Five Path Hypnosis, and Seven Path Self Hypnosis.
While a student may elect to pay tuition in advance of the start of a course, we encourage payment upon registering and attendance of a class (or at the end of a class period. Thus, reimbursement requests have never been an issue. Should any one, by request, pay in advance and then drop out, unused balance will be reimbursed.
Should there be a grievance of any kind, we want to know about it and to have the opportunity to address the complaint and will make appropriate amends.

Clinton O. Clay, NBCCH Certified Fellow in Clinical Hypnotherapy, NGH Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Five Path Hypnotherapist, and Certified Seven Path Teacher. In November, 2008 he completed seven days of training with Cal Banyan at the Banyan Hypnosis Center in Tustin, California.
Clint has had years of experience in Neuro Linguistic Programming, having been certified as a Master Practitioner and Trainer. He has been doing hypnosis as part of his counseling practice for over twenty years and now uses hypnosis and Meridian Therapy exclusively.
He has been teaching classes in hypnosis and NLP for the past five years. Having studied the Milton Erickson model for many years, Clint recently began to incorporate the more directive techniques, especially as taught By Cal Banyan and Roger Kein.
